8ta today unveiled a game changing voice offer that give customers truly unlimited calling freedom to any national mobile network as well as any national fixed line network. This offer is a first in the country and will deliver a new dynamic to the emerging mobile lifestyle of South Africans.
The 8ta Unlimited Voice All-Net promotional offering is available as a new 24 month contract plan. This offer allows customers to make unlimited voice calls to any mobile network, at any time, including 8ta, Vodacom, MTN and Cell C and fixed line networks Telkom and Neotel.
"Mobile voice services have fast become the communication medium of choice for South Africans on the move. Now for the first time the limitations of this medium has been removed. 8ta is enabling its customers to be connected like never before," said 8ta Senior Managing Executive, Amith Maharaj.

This promotion will be available from 1 November 2012 at 8ta Flagship stores, Telkom Direct stores and Telkom Business for a limited period only. The plan has a SIM only monthly subscription rate of R1199.00 and a Samsung Galaxy S3 option at a rate of R1499.00. These rates include VAT.

The Unlimited Voice All-Net offering is based on a SIM only plan (No device included) and is also available on handset deals.
All existing once off/recurring internet data bundles are available for purchase on the Unlimited Voice All-Net plan excluding promotional bundles i.e.: 60+60 and 2+1.
All International and premium rated calls shall be excluded from the unlimited calling benefit.
All existing once off/recurring SMS bundles are available for purchase on the Unlimited Voice All-Net plan.
Acceptable usage policy: 8ta shall proactively monitor the traffic on the Unlimited Voice All-Net SIM for the following deviations:
a) The SIM shall not be used for purposes of least cost routing, international bypass or payphone.
b) The SIM shall only be used on the device provided as part of the deal on a 24 month contract or IMEI supplied at a point of purchase in case of BYO/SIM only offer.
8ta will regard the above as fraudulent activity and if fraudulent usage is suspected, 8ta will immediately suspend the service, pending an investigation.

This will support the group-wide convergence strategy and drive greater alignment. This rebranding exercise will support a more effective business with stronger commercial prospects.
The Telkom brand is well established in South Africa. As the Company continues to execute its strategy and to pursue the convergence agenda, it is beneficial to leverage off the strong Telkom brand equity and the Company's unsurpassed network infrastructure, which includes the mobile network.
The 8ta brand has been highly successful in specific segments and will not be discontinued. It has been particularly successful in the youth market. New propositions will be developed and launched under the 8ta brand details of which will communicated in due course.
Telkom's leadership is confident that the mobile operation has strong prospects for the future. We have launched the most competitive prepaid rate in the market. This sets the tone for further product announcements planned over the next few weeks.

In response to the market's need for affordable broadband Internet, 4th Mobile network operator 8•ta has announced that it is extending its 10 GB Data Offering (24 month contract) until 30th June 2012.
